Sinop University was founded on 29 May 2007 in Sinop which is considered Turkey's happiest city with its natural, historical and cultural wealth. Our university, which includes the departments and programs most preferred by the students, provides a wide range of education opportunities to its students with its modern laboratories, rich library, implementation workshops and scholarship opportunities. Our university continues to increase its reputation both in our country and in the world with the scientific studies carried out by our academics and as of 2019, it ranks 5th among 18 universities in the Black Sea Region. 

Our University provides our students with the opportunity of getting a second undergraduate degree (double major) or gaining knowledge at a specific field (minor program) as a student at a different program in addition to their undergraduate programs. Our university, which is an active practitioner of international exchange programs, has bilateral agreements and cooperation with around 74 universities abroad. Our university continues to provide new units and social living space to its modern campus every day and continues to enrich the opportunities it offers to its students. 

Our university, which provides education and training opportunities for our students in the warmth of a family, it carries out scientific and cultural activities such as nutrition services, sports activities, conferences, symposia, theatre, exhibitions, concerts in a decent environment with the help of 60 student clubs. Sinop University, with 1 institute for graduate studies, 9 faculties, 2 colleges, 7 vocational schools and 13 research centers, provides education and training opportunities to approximately 13-thousand students in more than 100 degree programs.
